Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations employing standardized assessments alongside keen observational insight.
- Create tailored therapy plans that focus on immediate goals while nurturing long-term communication, cognitive, and swalllowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that emphasize communication skills, language enhancement, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, family members, and caregivers to design cohesive treatment strategies.
- Provide educational resources and support for patients and their families to foster progress beyond clinical interactions.
- Assist in occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments to ensure consistent and effective care throughout the recovery journey.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development and peer collaboration to stay current in this ever-evolving field.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies across all age groups, with an insightful grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and diverse care teams.
- Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to meet a wide array of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment paired with problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and related documentation requirements.
