Neuro ICU Travel Nurse Opportunity

This position is for a Neuro ICU unit. RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR. Required skills/certs/exp: Minimum years of experience: 2 years. Traveler experience: Unit will accept first-time travelers. Locals accepted/rate difference: Yes. Skills: Vents, IV start, neuro intensive care unit, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring, post neurosurgery management, care of ventilated patient, isolation precautions/use of PPE, lumbar drain experience. Strong neuro experience, must be 2 years, no less. Stroke patients is one of their largest patient populations. Certs: ACLS, BCLS, NIH. Preferred skills/certs/exp: Skills: Arterial line management.

Job details: Ratios 2:1 (can flex up to 3:1 in high census and nurse must be comfortable with this if needed). Average daily census 11-12. Shift: 36 hours can be offered. Unit will accept 13 weeks! 12 hour nights; 18:45 - 07:15. RTO: 7 days max for Aya auto offer. Call requirement: none. Float requirement: yes. Weekend requirement: every other weekend. Patient diagnoses: We are a comprehensive stroke center. Patient population: strokes (ischemic, hemorrhagic [SAH]), SDH, craniotomies, carotid stents, carotid endarterectomies, aneurysm coiling/clipping, seizures, depth electrodes, myasthenia gravis. Drains used: EVDs, LDs, hemovacs, Camino (ICP monitoring). Special procedures/unit details: Comprehensive stroke center. Special equipment: EVD, lumbar drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun. Unit systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR. Scheduling type: per the unit needs. Unit orientation: 24.0 hours; 2 days or 2 nights. Scrubs: Navy blue & white. Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty. Must have 2 years in neuro ICU, if not please redirect. Strong neuro critical care background, not just general ICU.
