ASSOCIATE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SPECIALIST

Associate Hazardous Materials Specialist Overview Under the general direction of the Fire Chief, the Associate Hazardous Materials Specialist will ensure that the facility remains in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding hazardous substances handling, storage, and disposal. Minimum Requirements Completion of educational courses as specified in the Class Specification (link available). Desirable Qualifications Collect environmental data; analyze and evaluate data and reach sound conclusions; apply scientific methods and principles; analyze situations and take appropriate actions; establish and maintain cooperative relations with local governments and all persons contacted in the work; prepare clear, complete, and technically accurate reports; and communicate effectively.
