Plumbing Designer

OBJECTIVE: The Plumbing Designer will be responsible for preparing the design and construction documents for plumbing systems in a design-build environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete engineering design project planning (i.e., conceptual design through construction drawing development). Conduct one or more of the following: economic & energy analyses; load calculations, design and layout of equipment, duct and piping systems. Complete applications engineering. Development and/or review of sequences of operation. Develop and review equipment submittals. Coordinate design and installation with Project Management, Construction and Service departments. Field engineering: assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem-solving. Complete Computer 3D modeling of plumbing systems utilizing the latest modeling software. Assist or complete project estimating and proposal writing, client interaction. Represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, architects, vendors, other design professionals, and contractors. Other tasks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 2 years related experience in the design of plumbing systems; Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management strongly desired. Proficient with REVIT and AutoCAD. Strong knowledge of Plumbing code(s) and applicable NFPA knowledge within the industry. Proficient knowledge of Engineering fundamentals. Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Must be able to communicate in a professional manner, be able to work with various personalities and work styles, and be a collaborative team-player. Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision as well as the ability to collaborate with the team. Punctual and able to meet fast deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
