Teacher Aide - Educare

Role Responsibilities Attends to the physical needs of the children Adheres to health, safety and sanitation policies and maintains a clean, safe and hygienic classroom Assists the teacher in implementing the education program Performs supportive teaching duties under the direction and supervision of the teacher Performs additional tasks in a timely fashion Positions, transfers and feeds students as necessary Work Schedule Full‑time: Monday to Friday 8:15 am – 2:45 pm (30 hours week), on a 12‑month school year. Job Type Full‑time Qualifications Graduate of an accredited high school or GED Minimum of one year experience working with children in a classroom or childcare environment (preferred) Experience working with children with special needs (preferred) Ability to supervise children in a variety of educational settings including, but not limited to, self‑contained and integrated environments Physically able to handle all aspects of supervision of day‑to‑day activities of students, including running, bending and lifting up to 25 lbs Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license at the time of hire High school diploma or equivalent (required) #J-18808-Ljbffr People's Arc of Suffolk
