Novus Orthodontics is looking for an Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. We are small office, but growing fast. This is great opportunity for someone who knows assisting and would also like to cross-train in other areas. We have a comprehensive benefit package as well as a bonus program. About the Role:

The Ortho Assistant plays a critical role in supporting orthodontists by ensuring efficient and effective patient care throughout the treatment process. This position involves preparing patients for orthodontic procedures, assisting during treatments, and managing clinical and administrative tasks to maintain a smooth workflow. The Ortho Assistant is responsible for taking and developing dental radiographs, making impressions, and educating patients on oral hygiene and appliance care. By maintaining sterilization protocols and managing inventory, the assistant helps uphold a safe and organized clinical environment. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to patient satisfaction and the overall success of the orthodontic practice.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working as an orthodontic assistant or in a dental office setting.
• CPR certification.
• Bilingual abilities to enhance patient communication and care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for orthodontic treatment by explaining procedures and answering questions to ensure comfort and understanding.
• Assist the orthodontist during procedures by handling instruments, materials, and equipment efficiently and safely.
• Take and develop dental radiographs and impressions accurately to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Maintain sterilization and infection control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment.
• Manage patient records, schedule appointments, and coordinate communication between patients and the orthodontic team.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and care of orthodontic appliances to support treatment outcomes.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of orthodontic supplies and equipment to prevent shortages and ensure readiness.

Skills:

The Ortho Assistant utilizes strong interpersonal and communication skills daily to interact compassionately with patients and collaborate with the orthodontic team. Technical skills are essential for accurately taking radiographs, making impressions, and assisting during complex orthodontic procedures. Organizational skills help manage patient schedules, maintain detailed records, and ensure the clinical environment is well-stocked and compliant with safety standards. Problem-solving abilities are applied when addressing patient concerns and adapting to dynamic clinical situations. Additionally, proficiency with orthodontic software and digital tools enhances efficiency and accuracy in patient care and administrative tasks.
