Registered Nurse - Post-Procedure Cardiac Recovery

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for a Post-Procedure Cardiac Recovery unit in Cleveland, Ohio. This vital role involves providing specialized care to patients immediately following cardiac and interventional procedures, ensuring their safe and stable recovery.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced Med/Tele environment, focusing on comprehensive patient assessment, monitoring, and intervention for individuals recovering from various cardiac and interventional procedures. This position requires a strong foundation in critical care or cardiac nursing principles to manage complex patient needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac and interventional procedures, including but not limited to cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and other vascular interventions.
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation, promptly identifying and responding to changes in patient condition.
• Conduct thorough post-procedural assessments, including vital signs, access site evaluation, neurological status, and pain management.
• Administer medications safely and accurately, including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, and sedatives, as per physician orders.
• Implement and manage post-procedure protocols, ensuring patient stability and preventing complications such as bleeding, hematoma, and arrhythmias.
• Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, interventionalists, residents, and other multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic health records and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in Critical Care or Cardiac nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Professional nursing certification recognized by the Magnet Association (e.g., CCRN, PCCN).

• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring.
• Expertise in post-procedural assessment and management of cardiac and interventional patients.
