As a Supply Chain Procurement Specialist (Buyer Level 2) located in Chantilly, VA, you will be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance and define the art of the possible from day one. This hybrid, on‑site position is based at our Chantilly facility. Relocation assistance is not provided. Clearance required for start: No. Clearance type: Top Secret. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time. Responsibilities Sources and procures goods and services from many suppliers to include software Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliers In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations Issues purchase orders Manages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow‑up activities Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded Provides support and clearly communicates solutions that are in accordance with defined process and procedures Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Self‑starter who is able to work with minimal direction Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain management or related fields Experience with using Microsoft Office Products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams Ability to travel 10–15% of the time U.S. Citizenship Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications Sourcing and buying computer hardware and electronic components experience Experience with negotiation of terms and conditions FAR/DFAR or government contracts experience Experience with financial analysis or price analysis Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems Experience in multi‑tasking in a challenging environment Salary and Benefits Primary level salary range: $69,000 – $103,400. The above range is a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and market conditions when determining the final offer. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may also be eligible for long‑term incentives.
