Assistant / Associate Professor, Hospitalist Physician, Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine
The Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Cincinnati, Ohio, is seeking Internal Medicine physicians at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level for our inpatient services at UC Medical Center with teaching activities in the Department's Graduate Medical Education program.
Individuals in this role will provide direct patient care to inpatients at UC Medical Center and teach on the General Internal Medicine ward teams and Internal Medicine consult service. This may include swing shifts and overnight coverage to inpatients at UC Medical Center. Opportunities for scheduling flexibility, including preferred shifts, will increase with demonstrated performance, length of service, and experience.
Essential functions include admitting and working up new medical patients, monitoring progress of admitted patients, serving as attending on traditional residency ward teams and the medical consultation service, overseeing Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) assigned to Short Stay Unit, performing invasive diagnostic procedures, leading "rapid response" and "code blue" teams, participating in the quality improvement framework of the medical units, striving to improve clinical processes and patient care at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and regularly attending section/divisional/departmental meetings and educational events.
Minimum requirements include a medical degree (MD or DO), completion of a three-year internal medicine residency, licensure by the State of Ohio Medical Board, and an active DEA license.
