Description: Schedule is Saturdays and one day during the week, which may vary. On-call is typically 2-3 shifts within a 6-week schedule, depending on staffing. The operating room is very busy and efficient. The pace is similar to that of an ambulatory surgery center. Candidates must be team players. A wide range of services is offered, including orthopedic, cardiac, general, podiatry, gastrointestinal, gynecological, vascular, and some neuro. Experience with various surgical procedures including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, amputation, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, craniotomy, and total hip replacement is required. Familiarity with specialized equipment is preferred. Candidates must be willing to float within the facility and their scope of practice. A tobacco-free policy is enforced; candidates must be nicotine-free. A positive nicotine screen will result in disqualification.
