Job Location: DGR Ops Center - 7702 N IH 35 - San Antonio, TX 78218 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $15.57 - $15.57 per hour Shift: Monday – Friday 4:00AM to 12:30PM Responsibilities Perform floor finish removal (stripping) from surfaces using approved finish removers following procedures to remove dirt, stains, deposits, cleaning solutions, and standing water, leaving a uniform appearance when dry. Apply floor finish (wax) to floor surface by following manufacturer’s directions. Shampoo carpet, achieving a uniform appearance and free of stains and discoloration using carpet spot removal as needed. Clean exterior window surfaces by removing all traces of film, dirt, smudges, water and other foreign matter from frames, casings, sills and glass. Remove, wash and replace Venetian blinds from windows. Perform dry/spray buffing on floor surfaces, ensuring a uniform appearance; adhere to loss prevention, inventory control and compliance procedures. Manually scrub ceramic and/or tile floors applying disinfectant solutions to eliminate soil, minerals, algae and mildew build‑up. Inform appropriate personnel of irregularities and possible problems at contract sites promptly. Enhance safety program by following all federal, state and agency safety requirements, wearing safety equipment and using chemicals and equipment per manufacturer’s directions; attend required training. Keep facility clean and hazard‑free by vacuuming, mopping, dusting and cleaning bathrooms. Dispose of trash and unusable merchandise in designated containers and dispose appropriately. Maintain good housekeeping standards. Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality. Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner. Adhere to, and ensure adherence to, all loss prevention, inventory control, compliance, risk management and ethics policies and procedures; safeguard donations and Goodwill property and resources; secure from harm, theft, accidental loss or disposal; participate in investigations of all reported incidents. Vacuum carpeted areas as necessary and remove stains/spills promptly. Dust throughout areas as necessary, taking care of team members’ belongings. Requirements 1 to 2 years experience in a commercial cleaning environment. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills; organized and detail oriented; able to analyze, evaluate situations and develop alternatives for conflict resolution. Basic cleaning methods, including stripping and waxing, chemical usage, equipment usage (buffer, carpet extractor, grout hog). Experience working indoors in a controlled temperature environment; ability to work outside in heat, cold, humidity, dust, dirt and solid particles from donated goods. Availability to work a day shift. Able to meet the physical requirements of the position. For positions requiring driving, maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage and be able to travel as needed if driving company business.
