Licensed Vocational Nurse (Lvn) / Licensed Practical Nurse (Lpn)

Join our dynamic Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg unit, located in Alexandria, LA. Our facility boasts:

Number of Beds: 36
Staffing: 49 healthcare professionals
Patient Ratios: Nurse/Patient = 6:1
Equipment Type: IV pumps, Wound Vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo Pumps, Chest Tubes, Telemetry, PCA pumps, Bipaps, Epidurals
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: [Details available upon request]

Job Responsibilities

Conduct wound care and management, including Wound Vac changes and dressing changes.
Perform IV insertions and insert indwelling Foley catheters.
Collaborate effectively as a part of a healthcare team.

Qualifications

Required Certifications:

Active Nursing License
ACLS Certification
BLS Certification

Required Skills:

Med-Surg experience
Critical thinking skills
Team player mentality

Preferred Skills:

Prioritization skills
Time management skills

Work Environment

This unit operates on a structured schedule with:

Every other weekend shifts required
Flexible on-call opportunities during low census periods

Dress Code

Uniform requirements include:

Ceil Blue scrubs (no sweatshirts or crocs allowed)
