Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years of experience required. License: Active state RN license or compact license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH. Must-Have: - EPIC experience is required. - Experience with stable chronic ventilators is required. - Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting. Description: This position is for a step-down unit nurse. The ideal candidate will work a minimum of every other holiday. Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, with the possibility of 1:5-6. Scheduled hours can be 36 or 48 hours per week. For contracts of 48 hours, overtime is compensated after 48 hours of work. The candidate must have experience in telemetry and be skilled in managing various patient care protocols. Prior travel experience is preferred. Candidates may be required to float to other units as needed based on census and hospital needs. Availability to work every other weekend and holiday is essential. Travelers may be the first to float at the discretion of management. This role may include a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team in floated areas. Candidate's comfort with floating to different units is required. No schedule requests or time-off will be accepted post-offer. The position entails caring for patients with a range of diagnoses, including respiratory and cardiac conditions, while managing various medical equipment and interventions. Critical thinking and the ability to adapt to changing patient needs are necessary skills for success in this role. The workplace supports various interdisciplinary teams to assist in patient care. Candidates must be proficient in accessing and managing different medical devices and procedures related to step-down care.
