Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of experience in Stepdown/PCU License: Active state RN license or compact license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - Ventilator experience - EKG tele competency assessment - Epic charting experience - Availability to work every other weekend/holiday - Experience with patient ratios of 1:4-6 Description: This position requires a registered nurse with experience in a stepdown or progressive care unit. The role involves participating in a team nursing model, where nurses collaborate with LPNs and PCTs to care for a group of patients. The unit is responsible for staffing a variety of medical cases, including but not limited to those with neurological conditions. Nurses will be assigned patients based on appropriate acuity and may float to other units as needed. Candidates must be comfortable managing ventilated patients and may encounter high-risk respiratory cases. Required skills include the administration of cardiac telemetry, management of dysrhythmias, and appropriate care of patients undergoing various procedures. Nurses should be capable of performing high-level assessments and interventions as necessary. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. Clinical support available includes respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams, among others. This position involves meeting the specific needs of a diverse patient population. Candidates should have experience with patient care technologies and be skilled in managing complex medical conditions. The role requires adherence to safety and infection control protocols throughout the duration of the assignment. Nurses must demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous professional development. There will be a maximum of 14 days requested time off allowed during the contract. Schedule requests or time off will not be negotiated after the offer is made. Local traveler rules apply, and flexibility with assignments is essential. Candidates should be prepared for changes in patient assignments based on unit needs and census.
