Job Description Patient Access Representative - Responsible for patient‑facing registration and other tasks such as information collection, validation, and requisitioning of orders and services. Participates in insurance‑related tasks including verification, collection of co‑payments, and related paperwork. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies and protocols. Acts as a liaison between patients, providers, payers, and other stakeholders for account resolution. Principal Accountabilities The PAR plays a vital role in the patient and family experience as an initial point of contact within the health system. Securing accurate information. Interpreting and communicating patient responsibility. Obtaining accurate patient identification essential for financial and operational success. Greeting customers with professionalism. Attempting to resolve customer questions and concerns. Adapting to changes in the work environment. Obtaining and verifying patient information for registration. Maintaining contact with third‑party payers to determine reasons for outstanding claims and facilitate payment. Requesting payment of financial dues from patients or guarantors. Obtaining federally required and hospital‑related consents in a timely manner. Reconciling daily bank bags and posting dues collected or charge codes within the financial system. Ensuring HIPAA compliance. Performing other related duties as assigned. Schedule Every Other Weekend Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift more than 25 lbs if needed. Preferred: Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, preferably EPIC. Minimum 1 year of experience in Patient Access, Medical Office, Health Insurance or related area.
