Inspector

Job Description

A customer of Insight Global is looking to hire a Construction Inspector, sitting in Junction, TX, to come onboard! This individual will support roadway and maintenance construction projects throughout the region, ensuring contractors perform work in compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards. The role will involve field inspections, materials testing coordination, documentation management, contractor communication, and oversight of paving and concrete-related activities. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently across multiple project sites while maintaining professional communication with project engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Inspect roadway and maintenance construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.

• Utilize SiteManager to enter, track, and maintain project documentation and construction records.

• Perform field inspections on concrete paving, hot mix asphalt paving, and general roadway construction activities.

• Collect soil samples from stockpiles in accordance with SB102 requirements and coordinate testing activities.

• Review contractor work progress and communicate project updates, concerns, and deficiencies to project stakeholders.

• Maintain organized construction documentation including inspection reports, testing records, estimates, and project correspondence.

• Coordinate with contractors, project engineers, and district personnel regarding schedules, traffic control needs, and material compliance.

• Monitor project activities across multiple geographically dispersed maintenance projects and ensure timely issue resolution.

Skills and Requirements

• 2+ years of construction inspection, construction, maintenance, engineering support, or transportation-related experience.

• Experience utilizing SiteManager for construction documentation, reporting, and project tracking.

• Active Concrete Certification required (concrete testing/certification experience).

• Active SB102 Certification with experience collecting and managing soil samples.

• Active Level 1B Hot Mix Certification (Level 1A also highly preferred) for roadway paving inspection.

• Experience inspecting concrete paving and asphalt/hot mix paving operations.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with contractors and project teams.
