SECURITY SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Security Office at Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT), OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FACILITY. Responsibilities You will prepare instructional and training information and conduct training. You will educate and instruct command personnel in security practices. You will implement various security-related training programs for command employees. You will review records and documents to identify employees who require training (e.g., employees assigned to ADP-1and ADP-2 sensitive positions), and schedule in-house or other courses. You will conduct routine and special security briefings, such Orientation, Annual Training Refresher, Derivative Classification, NATO, Counterintelligence/Insider Threat, and other specialized training. You will conduct debriefings with employees retiring, separating, transferring, or being reassigned. You will ensure that the command maintains full compliance within its daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual security program compliance standards. You will schedule and conduct internal security inspections. You will manage the daily operation of the Access Control office for access control and badge issuance to staff members and visitors. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying collateral security policies and procedures involving personnel, physical, information, industrial, or operational security programs; identifying security vulnerabilities, recommending corrective actions, and supporting compliance with DoD or SECNAV security requirements; coordinating with internal or external stakeholders to support classified operations, security initiatives, or implementation of security standards. Education Additional Information Pay retention may be granted when certain conditions are met. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
