Elevate your impact by working in a supportive elementary school environment where you’ll make a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. This contract role is tailored for Special Education educators passionate about empowering learners to grow academically and socially within a Life Skills classroom setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid, active Special Education Certification for Texas
- Endorsement in one of the following: Self Contained, Core Subjects, or Generalist (grade level must match the specified requirements)
- Experience supporting students with functional academic and adaptive skill needs (Life Skills/FASE classroom preferred)
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, IEP development, and special education compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for positive collaboration with students, families, and school teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to students with a range of disabilities within a Life Skills (FASE) classroom setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including progress tracking and data collection on goals
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to foster student growth in both academic and functional life skills
- Partner with education staff and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support for each child
- Communicate proactively with parents/guardians to keep them informed about student progress and challenges
- Maintain required records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
This opportunity features an onsite schedule of 37.5 hours per week and runs through December 18, offering you the chance to positively impact students in an inclusive, growth-oriented school community.
