PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER ******THIS IS NOT A SWORN OFFICER POSITION****** Patrol assigned area to enforce parking and related traffic ordinances; mark tires of parked vehicles; issue non-moving traffic citations for violations observed; apply and remove vehicle immobilization devices; arrange for vehicle towing. Report hazardous vehicles, expired registrations, suspicious incidents and individuals. Maintain a variety of records related to citations and vehicle impounds; prepare related daily and monthly reports. Prepare daily activity log and related police reports. Report defective parking meters; may performs minor meter repair. May assist sworn officers with traffic control at special events; direct vehicles and pedestrian traffic using hand signals and whistle. Knowledge of objective and procedures. City parking and related ordinances. the Mississippi Motor Vehicle Code as it relates to non-moving traffic violations effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for: making observations, reading and writing, operating assigned vehicles and equipment.
