Business Operations Summer Intern

Hive Group is a rapidly growing small business providing mission operations and program management services to our government clients. We are offering summer internships for motivated entry-level candidates. This is a great opportunity to work with a local business in the GovCon industry and begin building resume experience. Positions are part-time (anticipated 10-20 hours per week) performing a variety of business operations and logistics activities. On the job training is available. This opportunity must adhere to Virginia Laws and Regulations pertaining to employment of minors. The intern will be required to obtain a Virginia Employment Certificate prior to beginning work.

• Position Type: Part-time (Anticipated 10-20 hours per week)
• Location: McLean, VA (100% On-site)
• Compensation: Paid internship (Hourly rate commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily administrative support at our McLean, VA corporate office.
• Work with the Information Technology team to track hardware, software, and organizational licenses.
• Assist with the basic analysis of network structures and IT security preparation.
• Assist with the reconciliation of project performance requirements against financial documents.
• Review and process team timesheets and floorchecks for DCAA compliance.
• Coordinate with corporate and government stakeholders to ensure project task completion.
• Research new digital tools and processes to enhance company operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Current high school rising junior or senior, or a rising college freshman or sophomore.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Google Workspace.
• Comfortable learning new software applications and handling physical IT inventory.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to strictly follow multi-step compliance checklists.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to successfully manage a 10-20 hour work week.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills appropriate for a professional office setting.
• High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial and personnel data with absolute confidentiality.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contract security parameters.
• Ability to provide a valid Virginia Employment Certificate prior to the start date (if under the age of 16).
• Reliable transportation to and from the McLean, VA office location.

• Proficient in MS Office suite (Word and Excel) or Google equivalents.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
