We are seeking part time Employment Specialists/Job Coaches to assist people with disabilities obtain employment and provide on the job training in Burke and surrounding counties. Candidates should have exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills. Job Coaching requires critical thinking, problem solving, compassion, and patience while engaging in multiple approaches to help one achieve their employment and training goals. A Job Coach must be able to work collaboratively with the team and be committed to helping meet the specific needs of the person being served, as well as the needs of the employer. ResponsibilitiesWorks closely with individuals to identify vocational interests and abilities, create resumes, search, apply and obtain jobs, learn job tasks, and retain employmentCommunicates to understand individual goals and ambitionsSupports individuals in matching jobs with their strengths, abilities, and interestsDevelops and implements effective employment and training plansAssists individuals in discovering and overcoming barriersNetworks, communicates, and engages with local businessesGuides person served in learning to complete job dutiesAdvocates for workplace accommodationsProvides documentation and prepare appropriate reportsRequirementsA degree in a Human Service or Business related field is preferredJob Coaching experience is preferredExperience working with people with disabilities is preferredFlexible Schedule - some evenings, nights, weekends may be required during job trainingValid Drivers License and reliable transportationBenefits: Medical Insurance (full time only)Dental InsuranceVision InsuranceTelehealth -On line Doctor (Teledoc)401K with company matchUniversal MH/DD/SAS is dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse in achieving their full potential to live, work and grow in the community.Universal MH/DD/SAS is a comprehensive, statewide, CARF-accredited community human service organization.
