Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). The ideal candidate will have 5 7 years of experience in database management, ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. This role requires a detail oriented professional who can manage database environments and support our development teams in optimizing database performance.
Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and performance.
Utilize SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for database design, development, and management tasks.
Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to enhance efficiency.
Perform regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations.
Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
Conduct database migrations and upgrades while minimizing downtime.
Document database configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database related issues.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to database management.
Mandatory Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) is a deal breaker.
Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and performance tuning.
Experience with SQL scripting and query optimization.
Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies for SQL Server databases.
Familiarity with database security practices and compliance standards.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database).
Knowledge of other database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle).
Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
Experience with database monitoring tools and performance analysis.
Certifications related to SQL Server or database management are a plus.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5 7 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
