We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision-making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people. About the RoleAs a Systems Engineer, you will help design, develop, test, and improve complex systems throughout their entire lifecycle. You'll work across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure products meet customer needs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement.What You'll DoSupport system design, development, integration, and testing activitiesDocument requirements, processes, technical reports, and engineering changesInvestigate root causes of manufacturing and product challenges and recommend solutionsCollaborate with engineering teams including Design, Software, Test, Quality, Manufacturing, and OperationsDefine and analyze system requirements and specificationsParticipate in design reviews and evaluate system performance and reliabilityConduct system and risk analyses to identify and resolve issuesDrive process improvements to increase efficiency and product qualityApply systems engineering best practices throughout the product lifecycleMaintain current knowledge of engineering methods, tools, and industry standardsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)Minimum of 3 years of systems engineering experienceExperience leading complex system analysis and risk assessmentsExperience using data to support decisions and influence stakeholdersAbility to apply principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.Demonstrated Customer Focus, making their needs a primary focus for one's actions.Experience leading complex system and risk analysis.Ability to lead and utilize data to make decisions and influence stakeholders.Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and conceptsPreferred QualificationsStrong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologiesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to think holistically and apply systems-thinking conceptsStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated technical expertise, creativity, and independent judgmentCustomer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering quality solutionsAbility to travel up to 30% internationallyAbility to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplinesExperience supporting product development activitiesStrong collaboration and relationship-building skillsPassion for continuous learning and process improvementLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
