Estimator

This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive construction cost estimates for a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, healthcare, retail, industrial, and mixed-use projects. The Estimator works closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to develop budgets, analyze project risks, and support successful project execution from preconstruction through award Client Details Our client is a well-established national construction management and general contracting firm with a strong presence throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Description Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and pricing requirements. Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work. Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure comprehensive and competitive pricing. Prepare conceptual, schematic, design-development, and final estimates throughout the project lifecycle. Analyze project risks, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities. Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, architects, engineers, and owners during the preconstruction process. Develop and maintain project budgets, bid summaries, and estimate documentation. Assist in preparing proposals, qualifications packages, and client presentations. Monitor market trends, labor rates, and material pricing to maintain estimate accuracy. Support contract negotiations and project handoff activities upon award. Profile Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of estimating experience within the commercial construction industry. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, building systems, and project delivery practices. Experience estimating projects across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, higher education, retail, industrial, or mixed-use developments. Proficiency with estimating software, cost databases, and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
