Ignite the Power of Communication in Southwestern Beauty Become a Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career where you can literally give a voice to those who need it most, making a profound impact on the lives of individuals and families. As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of the most culturally rich communities of New Mexico, your role transcends traditional therapy. You'll be unlocking personal potential, instilling confidence, and fostering connections from the joyous giggles of young children to the dignified voices of our cherished seniors.
This position offers an extraordinary opportunity to work with a diverse clientele, ranging from children just beginning their language journey to adults facing communication challenges and seniors seeking clarity in their conversations. As part of a team that combines outpatient therapy with select inpatient care, you'll find the flexibility to pursue your passion, whether it lies in pediatric speech development, neurogenic communication disorders, or geriatric therapeutic practices.
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across all age groups, utilizing standardized measures and observational assessments.
Craft individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's short-term and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy interventions addressing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing concerns.
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
Provide training and education to patients and families to support learning and progress beyond the therapy room.
Participate in inpatient evaluations and treatments when necessary, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
Maintain meticulous and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and institutional protocols.
Engage in continuous professional development through education and collaboration with peers.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary if not currently ASHA-certified.
A valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques across various age groups, with a keen understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exemplary interpersonal skills to foster communication with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team.
Capability to modify therapy techniques to cater to varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Exceptional clinical judgment paired with effective problem-solving skills.
Proficient in managing electronic health records and adhering to documentation protocols.
Competitive pay based on your experience and credentials.
Flexible work hours to promote an ideal work-life balance with a variety of patient caseloads.
Opportunities to specialize in pediatric, adult neuro rehab, or geriatric disciplines.
Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay.
Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
Financial support for continuing education and avenues for professional growth.
A cooperative atmosphere that emphasizes teamwork and a commitment to excellent patient care and ongoing learning.
A Journey of Restoration and Empowerment
As a Speech Language Pathologist, your influence goes well beyond standard therapeutic practice. Here, you'll engage deeply with a mission to revitalize voices, enhance communication, and create memorable moments grounded in connection and understanding. In our nurturing environment, clinicians form tight-knit bonds, working in harmony rather than competition. With every patient you encounter, you'll have the privilege of helping them tell their unique story in their own words.
