Business Development Manager - Event Sales

Join our Events Sales team as a Business Development Manager, supporting the growth of events for legal professionals and organizations. You will play a key role in supporting overall revenue growth while building foundational sales experience in a growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Content Lead and Sales Managers, you will help to devise and execute the go to market plan for your dedicated events;
  • Generating new business through research using our extensive sister products, client communication and follow-up;
  • Selling sponsorship for allocated events;
  • Learning more about the brand through reading our news services in order to offer tailored products to both new and existing clients;
  • Developing and maintaining contact with potential clients via email, telephone communication and face-to-face meetings;
  • Creating and implementing a sales plan for products to meet sales targets;
  • Pitching to clients and leads in a bespoke manner, ensuring that you always provide a high level of customer service.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of sales experience, event sales experience in legal is ideal
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, in particular a highly professional telephone manner.
  • An aptitude for working towards targets and deadlines and devising a personal strategy to hit and exceed them
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Is a highly motivated individual able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience of using a CRM system - preference for Salesforce
  • Previous experience selling within the legal or professional services market is desirable, but not essential
