We are seeking a detail-oriented hands-on Quality Control Laboratory Technician to join our Quality Control team for the second shift starting at 2:00 PM. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of our products throughout the manufacturing process. The QC Lab Technician serves as the front-line quality representative on the production floor, conducting product testing, verifying production requirements, and maintaining accurate records to ensure all products meet company and customer specifications.

This position reports directly to the Quality Control Manager and works closely with Production personnel to support food safety and quality objectives.

Quality and Testing Analysis

• Collect in-process and finished product samples from production lines.
• Perform laboratory analyses according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Record and document test results accurately in logs and databases.
• Verify formulas and production specifications during manufacturing.
• Verify product packaging, labels, and coding for accuracy.
• Conduct package weight checks and ensure compliance with specifications.

Production Quality Oversight

• Monitor production batching processes to ensure ingredients are added in the proper sequence and processed according to established procedures.
• Place products on hold when quality results fall outside acceptable specifications.
• Investigate quality concerns, identify potential causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with the disposition of held products through retesting and production support.

Food Safety & Compliance

• Collect environmental, allergen, contaminant, and sanitation samples as required.
• Conduct pre-operational, post-cleaning, and start-up inspections of production equipment.
• Support food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records.
• Keep the laboratory clean, safe, and compliant with company standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve laboratory efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining product quality.

Qualifications

Education

Associate degree in a Science-related field, coursework in Microbiology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Food manufacturing industry preferred.

Quality Control, Quality Assurance, laboratory testing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or related industries is a plus.

Skills & Abilities

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to read, interpret, and follow SOPs, safety regulations, and operational instructions.

Proficiency in data entry, documentation, and recordkeeping, strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to work on the production floor and in a laboratory environment and work extended hours as needed.

Safety-focused mindset while working around production equipment. Flexible and dependable with the ability to work nights and weekends
