Construction Field Manager

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Field Manager to lead their on-site welding and fabrication operations . This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing field crews, maintaining safety compliance, coordinating schedules, and ensuring the highest standards of quality in structural steel fabrication and installation. Responsibilities AWS or ASME certifications (preferred) Field operations and crew management Oversee day-to-day field operations , supervising welding crews, assigning tasks, and ensuring schedules are met. Ensure all welding and fabrication activities comply with AWS, ASME, AISC standards and safety regulations. Conduct site visits for inspections, troubleshooting, and quality assurance. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and the fabrication shop team to align field activities with shop production and delivery goals. Manage resources, equipment maintenance, and material logistics . Mentor and develop crew members through training, coaching, and performance reviews. Enforce company safety policies and procedures . Track progress, costs, and time, and assist with field-related reporting, submittals, and change orders . Qualifications 5+ years of welding/fabrication experience , including field operations and crew leadership. AWS or ASME certifications strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of welding methods, codes, blueprints, and inspection protocols. Proven leadership and supervisory skills , including scheduling and team development. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills . Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly to job sites. High School diploma required ; additional technical certifications or journeyman/welder background a plus. Competitive compensation based on the Orlando/Apopka region.
