Traveling Registered Dental Hygienist - Nursing Home Care

Job Type Full-time Job Description Aria Care Partners is the national leader in providing onsite dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care to over 3,500 long‑term care and skilled nursing facilities across 25 states. The role involves visiting skilled nursing communities to deliver comprehensive care to an underserved population. The Position This position is responsible for providing treatment to patients in the facilities served by working with the DDS, clinical coordinator, and staff at each facility. Registered Dental Hygienists complete on‑site hygiene services and collaborate with clinical support managers to meet patient and facility needs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Review patient lists prior to visits and ensure supplies/equipment are available. Arrive on time, check in with the dental contact, and review the patient list. Transport, set up, and take down equipment and supplies in the designated workspace. Coordinate patient and chart transfer with facility contacts; if transport issues arise, seek assistance from the clinical support manager. Perform required care—including X‑rays, cleaning, dentures, sealants, and oral health assessments—and report findings to the dentist per ADA and company standards. Explain procedures to the patient during treatment and follow up with facility staff on recommendations. Enter chart notes for treatment provided in Salesforce at the time of service. Maintain OSHA safety and cleanliness regulations during patient treatment. Ensure disposables are handled correctly before leaving facilities. Check out with the dental contact, review chart notes, and leave printed copies with the facility. Work with the clinical support manager on scheduling and follow‑up of patient care. Maintain dental equipment through regular cleaning and maintenance routines. Inventory supplies and order as needed. Follow regulated OSHA guidelines for instrument handling and sterilization. Utilize personal vehicle for transporting equipment and supplies to scheduled facility visits. Be available via cell phone during the workday. Expense office or supply purchases when necessary. Location The role covers a home market with up to a 3‑hour travel radius. For trips exceeding 2.5 hours, the company provides overnight lodging and meals. Mileage reimbursement and paid time for driving beyond normal commute time are included. Requirements Current Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing and a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Valid driver’s license with no moving violations in the last 5 years. Willingness and ability to travel within a 3‑hour radius. Own reliable transportation. Ability to push/pull up to 200 lbs. (e.g., patients in wheelchairs). Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs. in and out of the vehicle and navigate between facilities. High school diploma or equivalent. Other Qualifications Customer service skills to coordinate with nursing home staff. Computer skills to log chart notes during visits. Organization to keep supplies and dentures, and daily schedule, up to date. Multi‑tasking ability to prioritize concurrent demands.
