Registered Nurse Emergency Room

This position involves working three 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Two weekend shifts or four weekend days are required every six weeks. Holidays may be required as needed. Call is not required for this role. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in the Emergency Department. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. The following certifications are mandatory: ACLS, BLS, and NIH. Preferred certifications include CPI, PALS, and TNCC. Experience with EPIC charting is necessary. Candidates with previous charge nurse experience and Level 2 Trauma expertise are preferred.

Skills required include: Management of arterial lines BiPAP/CPAP management Blood product administration Care of ventilated patients Central line management Continuous IV sedation CVA management General emergency care for both adults and pediatrics Management of gunshot wounds Care for head injuries Interpretation of arterial blood gases Interpretation of dysrhythmias Isolation precautions and PPE Usage of IV vasopressors Experience in Level 1 and Level 2 Trauma Centers Management of dysrhythmias Care for near drowning and neuro-trauma patients Non-trauma emergency department experience Ortho trauma management Phlebotomy skills Procedural sedation administration and monitoring Care for spinal cord injuries Starting and maintaining IVs Experience in STEMI and stroke-certified facilities Management of traumatic amputation and traumatic brain injuries Triage skills EKG dysrhythmia interpretation

This position offers interdisciplinary support from various departments such as IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Patient demographics include adults, and the emergency department treats a variety of diagnoses. Special procedures managed by the unit include stroke, cardiac care, and Level 2 trauma. The department is equipped with respiratory therapists available 24/7 to assist with patient care and emergencies. Floating to other campuses may be required as needed. All registered nurses must pass a compliance EKG exam to qualify for this position. Module training is required and will be conducted during the onboarding process.
