Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Charleston, South Carolina.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 11/16/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Nov 16, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position on a busy 48-bed surgical unit requiring a South Carolina or compact RN license.Details\n \n Work on a 48-bed 7th Floor Med/Surg unit caring for post-op and med surg patients in a fast-paced environment\n Patient ratios are 1:7, with a goal of 1:6\n Unit staffing includes 9 nurses, 5 PCTs, and 1 unit secretary per shift\n Uses EKG, bladder scanner, and ultra light IV insertion equipment\n Documentation completed in Meditech\n Schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with every other weekend required\n Overtime available\n Floating required on a PRN basis\n Requirements\n \n Active SC or compact RN license required\n Current BLS certification required\n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required\n Med/Surg patient care experience required\n Experience with wound care, I/O catheters, and trach care preferred\n Strong communication and teamwork skills required\n US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)\n One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)\n No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care to post-op and med surg patients including wound care, I/O catheter management, and trach care\n Unit is recognized for reduced hospital-acquired infections and multiple Daisy and Butterfly award winners\n Support includes 2 case managers and a social worker to assist with complex patient discharges\n Team emphasizes frequent huddles and iPhone communication to ensure coordination of care\n Navy blue or white scrubs required\n Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-758558.
