Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN)

We are hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) for one of our clients in Wichita Falls, TX . Job Description The Licensed Vocational Nurse at State Hospital performs advanced vocational nursing work. Provides for the care, treatment, and general welfare of individuals at State Hospital who have intellectual disabilities, complex medical, mental health, and/or behavioral health issues under the guidance of the Facility s Medical Director. Responsibilities Provide nursing services for individuals Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments and observes individuals for unusual symptoms and reactions. Monitors individuals weight, diet, feedings, and vital signs. Monitors for signs and symptoms of illness and uses appropriate nursing judgement to provide adequate care for the individual, including initiating acute care plans. Provides Nursing Care following the Nursing Process set forth by the Tx. BON. Completes computer data entry, other documents, and file, in a timely manner, any reports, records, or other documentation required by HHSC in providing nursing services, and in the format specified by policy. Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for accrediting agencies; specifically, Joint Commission Guidelines, WFSH Policy and Directives and HHSC Standards, Rules and Directives. Requirements Must currently be licensed and registered to practice nursing by the Texas Nursing Board or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact. Must have at least 2 years of experience Must be at least 18 years of age. Must not be excluded from providing services to individuals on Medicare and Medicaid. Must submit to and pass drug screening and criminal history checks, including fingerprint checks, and registry clearance checks. Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements. Must complete facility and HHSC required training including facility CPR. Must Comply with all other job requirements specified by the Facility. Additional Information Note: Shifts are alternating to meet staffing needs. (Availability to begin on the first of each month; completion of NEO/NNO is required Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM during the first month).
