Job Summary:
The labor and delivery specialty position is located in Santa Maria, California. This role involves providing care in a high-acuity obstetric setting, managing patients across all gestational ages, including antepartum and high-risk deliveries. Candidates are required to bring their license on their first day. The position entails 12-hour shifts, either from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Position: Labor and Delivery Department
• Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; every other week, first to float
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN advanced for labor and delivery), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), COVID Vaccine required
• Required Qualifications: Valid license, C-section circulating experience, scrub experience preferred, minimum 2 years of clinical experience, Cerner electronic medical record system proficiency, recent COVID vaccination, certifications as specified
• Additional Information: Candidacy includes floating to postpartum units; orientation requires three shifts; hospital may cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment or three shifts if less than 13 weeks; charge nurse role with no patient assignment; OB tech support available day and night shifts; no OB/Neonatalist in house but available if needed; 24/7 RT and pharmacy services available; no in-house neonatalist but available if needed; common patient diagnoses include high-risk pregnancies, substance abuse, pre-eclampsia, insulin-dependent diabetics, and deliveries of all gestational ages.
• Special Notes: First to float during every other week, with unit-specific float policy.
