Welder and Fabricator

This role involves performing high-quality MIG and TIG welding on steel and stainless steel, fabricating and assembling metal components, and ensuring all welds meet structural and quality standards. You will work from blueprints and weld symbols, operate fabrication equipment, and contribute to safe and efficient production in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel and stainless steel components in accordance with job specifications and quality standards.
• Tack, fit, and assemble metal parts from steel and stainless steel to prepare assemblies for final welding.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols to determine layout, sequence of operations, and welding requirements.
• Inspect welds for structural soundness, ensuring proper penetration, alignment, and overall weld quality.
• Use fabrication tools and equipment, including pipe band saws and metal shearing machines, to cut and prepare materials for welding and assembly.
• Grind and clean material and completed welds to remove slag, spatter, and imperfections, ensuring a clean and finished appearance.
• Handle and position materials safely, including lifting and moving metal components as needed for fabrication and welding tasks.
• Follow established safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and resolve issues related to fabrication and welding.
• Perform routine checks on tools and equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Proven ability to perform MIG welding on steel and stainless steel.
• Proven ability to perform TIG welding on steel and stainless steel.
• Hands-on experience in metal fabrication, including tacking, fitting, and assembling metal parts from steel and stainless steel.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Porterville, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
