Job Summary:
The position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Emergency Department at a healthcare facility located in San Francisco, California. Candidates are required to bring their California RN license on the first day of employment. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care in a busy, multi-diagnosis environment, with an expectation of floating to other facilities within the designated radius as needed.

Job Details:

• Location: San Francisco, California
• Shift: 12-Hour Variable shifts
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, BSN degree, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications, RN with at least 2 years of emergency department experience, previous travel assignment experience, and ability to float within a 75+ mile radius.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Trauma Level I or Level II facility, EMR experience with Epic, and additional ED-specific procedures such as care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, CVA management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of multisystem organ failure.
• Special Skills and Experience: Management of ventilated patients, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, triage experience, and related emergency care skills.

Additional Information:

• Candidate must have completed references in hand at the time of submission, including two references from the most recent employer.
• Vaccination requirements include COVID-19 vaccine plus booster (medical or religious exemptions only).
• The professional is required to accept floating assignments as necessary within their scope of practice.
• Start date is confirmed for 07/21/2026.
• Resources may be reassigned to different units or facilities within a 75+ mile radius during the assignment.
• Modules vary by unit and specialty, ranging from 1 to 24 hours, completed pre-start and annually.
• All employment history with any University of California medical facility, including rehire eligibility, must be included with the application, along with work dates, units, and manager names.
