Maintenance Mechanic II (Hospital)The Maintenance Mechanic II (Hospital) performs general maintenance as directed, and as necessary, on all aspects of the building structure and systems to include the floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other related items.These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.Make independent decisions based on test results and overall system requirements utilizing sound engineering judgmentMake all rounds and observe operating equipment for unusual noises, vibrations, and other telltale symptoms of possible problemsTake appropriate readings and interpret any variations from prior entriesKeep logs current and accurateUnclog plumbing backups using blueprints for guidanceOperate power snakes and plungers, and remove various piping components as requiredBasic knowledge of heating, air conditioning and refrigerationEnsure all preventive maintenance work orders are completed as assignedMaintain inventory and stock of supplies used for facility and equipment repairsKeep tools and parts in good operating conditionKeep assigned areas clean and in good overall appearanceRespond to trouble calls from the tenants of all Chesapeake Regional Medical Group buildings, including the hospital, ambulatory care centers, and medical office buildingsRespond to codes as required and assist Security as necessaryAssist in the testing of various alarm systems, i.e., fire Alarm System, etc.Maintain the confidentiality of patient, personnel, and department information at all timesAttend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-servicesDemonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient careRepair/replace light fixtures (ballasts, bulbs etc.)Reports to: Lead MechanicSupervises: NoneResponsibilities: Not applicableTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
