Position Overview Department: Cardiovascular ICU - CVICU Schedule: Part-Time Nights, 7:00 p.m to 7:00 a.m. with Rotating Schedule Full-time Nights 7:00 p.m to 7:00 a.m. Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham Benefits for eligible positions include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham has 17 bed s and provides specialized care to critically ill patients recovering from complex cardiothoracic , vascular , and cardiac procedures. Our fast-paced critical care unit offers opportunities for growth through collaboration with other members of the care team, continuing education, and leadership development . What You Will Do Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire. Additional Preferences No additional preferences.
