Overview Position: Registered Nurse - Acute ICU/CCU | Full Time Day Shift (12-hr) Location: Paramus, NJ (New Jersey CPB) Job Category: Nursing/Nursing Support Requisition Number: REGIS009151 Responsibilities General Responsibilities: Assessment, treatment, and patient care appropriate to the ages of the patients served; identify and document initial observation and assessment of patient needs for immediate nursing action; assess nursing needs and detect changes in the clinical picture; plan, assess, and document care based on assessment; initiate referrals to other departments, services, or outside agencies as needed for patient care. Direct Patient Care: Provide comprehensive patient care; conduct patient and family teaching; collaborate with the healthcare team; use patient care standards; document patient responses and progression toward goals; complete admission/transfer/discharge summaries; seek clarification of unclear orders; interpret clinical data and notify physician when changes are needed; administer intravenous medications per policies; transport patients; establish IV access and maintain lines; perform phlebotomy as needed; assess and coordinate pain management; respond to emergencies calmly and effectively. Indirect Patient Care: Participate in interdisciplinary rounds; apply infection control and safety principles; orient new personnel; provide clinical supervision to CNAs, ward clerks, and other staff; uphold customer service expectations; maintain department policies and quality standards; monitor nutrition and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team; adhere to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct and Mission, Vision, and Values. Other Duties: Orient families to the new environment; assist in data collection and QA/QI monitors; utilize hospital computer systems; participate in quality improvement committees; assist other personnel; stay current with trends; attend mandatory in-service programs; respond to hospital codes; participate in disaster codes as assigned; attend unit meetings. Safety: Ensure emergency equipment is on hand and functional; report equipment malfunctions; verify monitoring equipment and ventilator alarms are set per standards. Position Qualifications (ICU/CCU) Current NJ licensure as a Registered Nurse ICU/CCU/CCRN preferred BLS, ACLS, and IV certifications required Successful completion of in-house Intensive Care Orientation Program required At least 1 year of Critical Care or Intensive care experience required Education BSN required For ICU/CCU Per-Diem roles: a minimum of three (3) years of critical care experience required Job Setting & Physical Demands All Intensive Care areas Frequently prolonged standing and walking Lifts, positions, pushes, and transfers of patients Protective clothing: face shields, gloves, impermeable gowns Salary: Commensurate with experience within posted range Salary Range: $49.82 to $69.09 per hour plus differentials: weekend $2.25/hr; evening differential 10%; night 12%; charge pay $2.25/hr We provide a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision plans, generous time off, and tuition reimbursement/education programs to support ongoing development.
