Senior Director, Global Value & Access Strategy – povetacicept Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Director of Global Value & Access Strategy (GVAS) for povetacicept, reporting to the ED Kidney Lead, to join our dynamic team in Boston, MA. The Senior Director will be the Market Access Asset Lead for povetacicept in IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and future indications including pMN and gMG. Key Responsibilities Develop and communicate the global pricing and market access strategy for povetacicept within cross‑functional, cross‑regional commercialization processes. Ensure global market access launch readiness for the IgAN lead indication. Deliver differentiated branded payer value communications and support training. Lead the evolution of the global price and market access strategy in IgAN. Partner cross‑functionally and cross‑regionally to develop integrated evidence plans supporting global market access and reimbursement at launch and over time. Develop the P&MA strategies for future indications/portfolio and partner within commercial to develop overall LCM strategy, including indication sequencing. Ensure P&MA strategies are supported by payer insights and robust global payer plans. Identify, prioritize and champion evidence required for access‑enabling trials and value optimization. Provide leadership within the Global Commercial Model and shape commercial strategy; contribute directly to the Commercialization Strategy Team and the Disease Strategy Team to ensure the payer position is consistently represented. Lead cross‑portfolio capability building and thought‑leadership projects that advance knowledge of and readiness for the evolving global payer environment. Effectively lead cross‑functionally and cross‑regionally with Market Access teams, HEOR, Real World Evidence, Government Affairs and Public Policy to ensure alignment around and delivery against access goals. Provide direct, “hands‑on” development of strategic and tactical deliverables as required. Manage two direct reports. Experience and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in life sciences; postgraduate degree preferred. 12+ years of direct biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience; 5+ years of supervisory/management experience preferred. Deep working knowledge of US and ex‑US healthcare systems required; experience in a comparable global/specialty disease area role, especially involving product launches in highly competitive markets, is a plus. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and make sound pricing and market access recommendations. Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with a sound understanding of applying pricing, reimbursement, HEOR principles to support Vertex. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write and deliver presentations to professionals at all levels within Vertex. Demonstrated ability to manage initiatives requiring cross‑functional collaboration and relationships across geographies. General experience in commercialization and drug development. Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, reliability, and a fit for Vertex’s core values and culture. Compensation $240,000 – $360,000 base salary, plus annual bonus, equity awards, and other benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, student loan repayment, commuting subsidy, charitable donation matching, and 401(k). Work Arrangement Hybrid‑eligible: work remotely up to two days per week or on‑site five days per week, subject to Vertex’s Flex policy.
