Senior Accountant

Dungs Combustion Controls develops, manufactures, and markets products and systems globally for the comfort heating and process heat industry. Karl Dungs, Inc. (KDI) is the North American subsidiary of Karl Dungs GmbH & Co. KG (DUNGS). KDI oversees sales and supports the entire Americas region, including North, Central, and South America. Role Description The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing accounting procedures for KDI. This includes financial reporting, account reconciliations, customer credit approvals and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while supporting process improvements. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Account Management: Manage general ledger accounts, book journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and oversee accounts payable and receivable to ensure proper cash flow management. Audit Coordination: Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities and ensure that all financial practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, delegating tasks and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. Process Improvement: Review and enhance accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy, recommending ways to reduce costs and improve revenue. Customer Credit Approval: Review customer credit reports to determine if credit should be granted. Qualifications Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. (CPA certification is preferred) Experience: 5 or more years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices Preferred Qualifications AP experience preferred Core Competencies Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP) Advanced in MS Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical thinking. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Working Conditions Primarily office-based May require extended hours during critical project milestones.
