Overview As a graduate nurse, deciding where to start your nursing career can be a challenge. In addition to our classroom curriculum, our residency program offers a variety of rotating clinical tracks to give you exposure to multiple units prior to deciding which unit is the best fit for you. RESIDENCY CLINICAL TRACKS Our residency program provides practical experience across several hospital and specialty areas. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS College Diploma in Nursing CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) within 30 days Responsibilities Perform all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service. Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs. Implement plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modify plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. Communicate with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identify own learning needs and take initiative to begin appropriate solution. Fulfill all requirements of departmental competencies. Work with nurse preceptor to perform all responsibilities required by unit and patient population. Accurately and timely, collect and document data of nursing care rendered to assure integration of information for use by the healthcare team. Report adverse events to improve quality and safety for patients and staff. Implement plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Utilizing the nursing process, modify plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. Receive constructive feedback based on performance and behavior. Regularly confer with colleagues to ask questions and expand knowledge base. Complete all mandatory training and competency modules. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is $31.65 - $54.44 per hour. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
