Clinical Administrator – Peri‑Operative and Critical Care Board We are looking for a reliable, well‑organised and highly efficient Clinical Administrator to support the Anaesthetic Department at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. The role is part of a small, collaborative admin team that works closely with clinicians, nursing and other administrative staff. Job Overview The successful candidate will prioritise and manage their own workload, demonstrate flexibility and an enthusiastic approach, and work well both independently and within a team. Main Duties Provide efficient administrative service to clinicians and support the Anaesthetic Rota Coordinator. Support Consultants, Medical Staff and other clinical team members by handling appointments, admissions and other administrative tasks. Provide cover for the Team Leader within the administration team as required, and cover other Clinical Administrator posts across the Trust when needed. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, time‑management and planning ability to meet a variety of ad‑hoc demands. Person Specification Qualifications and Education – Level3 qualification in administration or equivalent experience; English Level2 (e.g. GCSE Grades 9‑4 or A*‑C); Maths Level1 (e.g. GCSE Grades3‑2). Knowledge and Experience – Experience of secretarial/administrative procedures, understanding of confidentiality, NHS administration/secretarial experience desirable, working knowledge of NHS systems (e.g. eRecord, SystemOne), knowledge of medical terminology desirable. Skills and Abilities – Proficient IT skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); advanced keyboard and word‑processing skills; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work without direct supervision; strong time‑management and initiative; accurate data entry and information presentation.
