SharePoint Administrator, Lead

SharePoint AdministratorAMERICAN SYSTEMS, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking an experienced SharePoint Administrator to manage and maintain three on-premises SharePoint farms, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role will also lead the upgrade of our current SharePoint environments to the latest supported version of Microsoft SharePoint, including planning, execution, testing, and post-migration support. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SharePoint architecture, farm administration, upgrades/migrations, and working closely with infrastructure and business teams. Responsibilities As an AMERICAN SYSTEMS Lead SharePoint Administrator, you will:Administer and support three SharePoint farms (development/test and production environments).Monitor system health, performance, and capacity planning.Plan and execute upgrade projects to the latest version of SharePoint, including:Upgrade assessment and roadmap developmentInfrastructure planning and designMigration of content databases and service applicationsTesting, validation, and end-user supportManage patching, cumulative updates, and security configurations.Configure and maintain service applications (Search, Managed Metadata, User Profile, etc.).Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint-related issues across the environment.Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.Manage permissions, governance policies, and compliance requirements.Work with SQL DBAs to maintain SharePoint databases.Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical solutions.Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.Design, deploy, and manage virtualized infrastructure using VMware vSphere, including ESXI hosts and vCenter ServerQualificationsU.S. Citizenship (Required)Top Secret clearance w/SCI eligibilityBachelor's degree (additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree)At least 8 years of hands-on SharePoint administration experienceDoD 8140 IAT II-level certification (e.g. Security+ CE, or equivalent)Proven experience managing multi-server SharePoint farmsExperience planning and executing SharePoint upgrades (e.g., 2016/2019 to Subscription Edition or later)Strong understanding of:Windows Server administrationActive Directory integrationIIS configurationSQL Server for SharePointExperience with PowerShell scripting for SharePoint administrationKnowledge of SharePoint governance and best practicesKey CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and documentation abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and projectsDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills*Candidate may select to work from either Arlington, VA, or Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, D.C. Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $110,800.00/Yr. - USD $185,100.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
