Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients spanning from young children to elderly adults, employing both standardized tests and real-world observations.
- Create tailored treatment programs that address immediate speech goals while also considering long-term communication and swallowing needs.
- Engage in individualized speech therapy sessions focused on improving communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities.
- Work hand-in-hand with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and families, to develop integrated care plans.
- Educate patients and their families, empowering them to support progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Occasionally perform inpatient evaluations and therapies, maintaining a seamless continuum of care for every patient's journey.
- Provide thorough and timely documentation adhering to local laws and organizational policies.
- Commit to ongoing learning through professional development and collaboration with peers in the field.
Education Requirements
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
