Underwriting Assistant - Builders Risk

Underwriting Assistant - Builders Risk Primary responsibility is to assist underwriters in servicing new and existing accounts. The candidate will be responsible for booking accounts, preparing endorsements and binders, evaluating new and renewal policies and endorsements, and preparing and issuing manuscript policies. The candidate will also service accounts, including resolving agents’ inquiries, complaints, requests, and policy processing activities with guidelines, gathering and organizing specified information and reports to assist in the underwriting decision. Responsibilities Assist underwriters in servicing new and existing accounts. Book accounts, prepare endorsements and binders, evaluate new and renewal policies and endorsements, and prepare and issue manuscript policies. Service accounts, including resolving agents’ inquiries, complaints, requests, and policy processing activities with guidelines; gather and organize specified information and reports to assist in the underwriting decision. Qualifications Strong portfolio management and production skills with an understanding of the company’s business objectives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills. Ability to work in a high-volume atmosphere. Extremely organized. For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000-$80,000.
