Construction Laborer – 7 On / 7 Off Schedule

This role supports construction and industrial operations by hauling mill waste from the mill to the landfill and performing a wide range of general labor tasks. You’ll work 12‑hour shifts on a rotating 7‑day schedule, helping maintain safe, clean, and efficient job sites while operating vehicles and equipment as needed. The position offers fast onboarding with no lengthy compliance requirements , making it easy to step into steady, reliable work.

• Haul mill waste safely and efficiently from the mill to the landfill
• Perform general construction labor: site prep, cleanup, debris removal, and material handling
• Maintain clean, organized job sites to support safe daily operations
• Move and stage materials, tools, and equipment as directed
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly
• Assist with digging, trenching, and earthwork activities
• Drive and operate vehicles and equipment, including dump trucks and hauling equipment
• Support heavy equipment operators by preparing work areas and maintaining clear zones
• Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
• Work 12‑hour shifts in a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation

• Experience with general construction labor, cleanup, and material handling
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks (digging, lifting, moving materials)
• Driving experience in construction or industrial settings
• Experience around heavy equipment or active job sites
• Strong safety awareness and ability to maintain organized work areas
• Reliability and punctuality for long shifts and rotating schedules
• Consistent transportation to and from the job site

• Previous construction, industrial, or mill experience
• Comfort working with a variety of tools and equipment
• Ability to adapt to changing tasks and priorities

You’ll work 12 hours on / 12 hours off during your 7‑day rotation. The job takes place in an active construction and industrial setting, hauling mill waste and supporting heavy equipment operations. Work is outdoors and involves exposure to weather, physical labor, and regular use of tools, vehicles, and equipment. Safety procedures and proper equipment use are central to daily operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, VA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
