Title : Buyer Industry : Aerospace / DOD / Electronics / Location : On-site in Columbia, MD M-F 9/80 work schedule Pay/Duration : 30.00 - 45.00 per hour / 12 months contract to possible direct hire Required : 2 years of purchasing with a BS degree in a related field Negotiate and place the order for the procurement of commodities as assigned considering such factors as price, delivery, reliability, conditions of acceptance and other related terms and conditions. Evaluate new and current suppliers. Negotiates and releases Purchase Orders in accordance with established approval levels. Getting Information - Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Communicating with Persons Outside Organization - Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail. Handles high dollar commodities requiring formal requests for quote and written proposals, and tough negotiations with more complex price justification. Procure assigned commodities and services in accordance with established delivery requirements and within fund or target allocations. Maintain supplier communication to insure that delivery and commitment objectives are met Coordinate supplier registered problems with affected company departments to assure that proper solutions can be affected The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role.
