Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Medical Assistant-Dermatology.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required. h
• Previous Scribe experience is a bonus (not required)

This is a FULL TIME/TEMP TO HIRE position requiring availability between the hours of 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday and Friday from 7:30 PM- 1:00 PM, located in Virginia Beach, VA 23454.

Responsibilities:

A Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant- Dermatology:

As a Medical Assistant (Dermatology), you will be responsible for providing excellent patient care while abiding by all HIPAA laws and regulations in an outpatient clinic setting. Your role is instrumental in the assessment process for the clinic visit which includes obtaining vitals, reconciliation of medication, recording allergies, rooming patients, documentation in patient charts (EHR), calling in prescriptions to the pharmacy, completing follow-up phone calls to patients, assisting the provider during the patient’s visit, when your assigned physician is not in the office, he or she is also responsible for assisting other physicians and co-workers in the office, and any other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This position is in Virginia Beach, VA 23454.

Requirements for the Medical Assistant- Dermatology:

• Required: 1 year experience
• Required: Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
• Required: Social perceptive and service-oriented.
• Required: Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Required: Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen.
• Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have the ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
• Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Required: OK to help other physicians and co-workers when your assigned physician is not in the office.

Preferred Qualifications for the Medical Assistant- Dermatology:

• Preferred: Dermatology experience.
• Preferred: Scribe experience is a bonus. 

Skills

• Interview and room patients scribing utilizing our EMR “EMA” through Modernizing Medicine.
• Assist multiple providers as needed
• Proven working experience as a medical assistant – Preferably Dermatology 
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Organize and schedule appointments
• Update and file medical records
• Scan necessary information into the patient chart
• Keep patients updated with results
• Field phone calls to/from patients
• Prepare and assure prescriptions are accurate
• Complete prior authorizations as needed 
• Assist during medical examinations
• Assist in minor surgical procedures
• Stocking of supplies
• Notify supply staff to order items in short supply
• Produce and distribute correspondence, memos, letters, faxes, and forms. 
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Maintains a non-judgmental approach to issues or concerns

• $18.00 - $20.00 per hour DEPENDING ON YOUR LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE.
