This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. This position is concentrated on the mainframe platform, with development in **Assembler** language.Job Complexity: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.Supervision: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.Experience/Education:Bachelors in Engineering or Computer Science required with 8+ Years Industry Experience or MA/MS Engineering or Computer Science with 6+ Years Industry Experience.Job DescriptionThis position is concentrated on the mainframe platform, with development in **Assembler** language.We are looking for experienced Software Engineers to produce and implement functional software solutions for delivery to our customers. This will involve development on existing mainframe-based products. You will work with product management to help define software requirements and implement the solutions in a small development team environment. In this role, you should be able to work independently with little supervision while also collaborating with team members. You should have excellent organization and problem-solving skills, and experience in Agile development methodologies. The individual and team goal will be to develop high-quality software that is aligned with user needs and business objectives.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping high-quality software design and architectureProducing, testing and debugging software solutionsProviding peer leadership in an Agile team environmentTechnical interaction with product management and customersCoordination with management and internal teamsAutomating tasks through appropriate tools and scriptingPerforming validation and verification testingEnsuring software is up-to-date with latest technologiesRequirementsProven Mainframe knowledge and skillsIBM **Assembler** language proficiencyStrong understanding of **DB2** and relational database concepts and internalsz/OS Operating system familiarityDatabase design and **SQL** skillsSource control systems and interactive debugging tool experienceStrong Database Application design and implementation skills including schema design, queries, procedures, triggers etc.Experience developing/utilizing test automation Experience with DevOps and Continuous integration toolsAnalytical mind with problem-solving aptitudeAdditional Job Description:Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $108,000 - $172,800.This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.Broadcom offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental and vision plans, 401(K) participation including company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave and vacation time.
