Physical Therapist

HEROES Physical Therapy is a small but mighty clinic in Allegan, MI, and we’re looking for a Physical Therapist who wants to make a real difference in the lives of both kids and adults.

We work with children with a wide range of developmental and mobility needs, while our adult caseload continues to grow. We’re looking for a PT who enjoys variety, values relationships, and wants the opportunity to work with patients across the lifespan.

What You’ll Be Doing

This role is hands-on, creative, and incredibly rewarding. Your caseload will include both pediatric and adult patients, giving you the opportunity to work with a variety of diagnoses, goals, and functional needs.

Your week may include things like:

• Supporting children with sensory integration, reflex integration, mobility development, and functional movement using a variety of fun, movement-based activities.
• Incorporating Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) into pediatric sessions — or learning it if you haven’t used it yet.
• Incorporating TASES, whole-body vibration, and other modalities into treatment when appropriate.
• Completing wheelchair seating evaluations and helping families understand how proper positioning can impact a child’s comfort, function, and overall mobility.
• Conducting durable medical equipment evaluations, including seating and mobility devices, and working with vendors when needed.
• Providing orthopedic and functional rehabilitation to adult patients.
• Treating adults with conditions affecting strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and functional movement.
• Working with patients before and after surgery as they work toward returning to everyday activities.
• Treating spine pain, weakness, and disc derangements, including use of the McKenzie Method when appropriate.
• Working with athletes and active adults on injury recovery, strengthening, mobility, and return-to-sport or return-to-activity goals.
• Performing observational gait analysis and addressing gait and mobility concerns across pediatric and adult populations.
• Helping patients build strength, mobility, confidence, and independence.
• Coaching families and patients so they feel confident continuing appropriate strategies at home and in their daily lives.
• Working closely with a small team that values communication, respect, and showing up for each other.
• Celebrating progress, no matter how big or small.

We’re looking for someone who cares deeply about their patients and wants to build genuine relationships with the people they serve.

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• Are a licensed Physical Therapist in Michigan.
• Enjoy working with patients across different ages and abilities.
• Are comfortable treating or interested in treating both pediatric and adult patients.
• Have an interest in pediatric physical therapy and developmental mobility.
• Have an interest in DMI, or experience with it, we’re happy to support additional training.
• Are comfortable with, or open to learning, wheelchair seating and DME evaluations.
• Have an interest in orthopedic rehabilitation, sports injuries, spine care, gait, or functional mobility.
• Communicate with patients and families in an honest, warm, and supportive way.
• Love problem-solving and finding creative solutions.
• Are curious and willing to continue developing your clinical skills.
• Want to work somewhere where your voice matters and your ideas are welcome.
• Are looking for a part-time role with the opportunity to grow into full-time as the clinic and your caseload grow.

Pediatric experience is preferred, but we’re open to the right PT who is eager to learn. New graduates are welcome to apply, especially those with a strong interest in pediatrics and a willingness to work with a varied patient population.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Physical Therapist license in the State of Michigan.
• Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), sensory integration, pediatric mobility, or developmental therapy is helpful but not required.
• Experience with wheelchair seating or durable medical equipment assessments is a plus but not required.
• Experience with orthopedic rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation, spine care, gait analysis, or treatment of adult patients is helpful but not required.
